Chinese Hair Topper vs. Burmese Hair Topper: What You Need to Know

December 27, 2024 Hair Topper 101 Views: 12238

If you’ve been looking at hair toppers lately, you’ve probably seen this question pop up:

Chinese hair or Burmese hair?

At UniWigs, the Upgrade Courtney topper comes in both.
And yes… both are great.

But they don’t feel the same.
And they won’t give you the same look either.

What is a hair topper?

A human hair topper is basically a “boost” for the top of your head.

You clip it into your own hair. It adds coverage where you need it most and gives you volume without wearing a full wig.

If your hair feels thin at the crown, a topper can be a game changer.

Why do Chinese hair and Burmese hair feel different?

Because they come from different hair sources and the natural texture is not the same.

Chinese hair is usually thicker and straighter.
Burmese hair is softer and often has a natural wave.

Let’s go a little deeper.

What’s the quick difference between Chinese and Burmese hair?

Here’s the fast comparison.

What does a Chinese hair topper look like on?

If you love a clean, straight look, you’ll probably like Chinese hair version of Upgrade Courtney.

It lays flat in a good way, looks polished and blends easily with straight hair.

It’s also a nice choice if you don’t want to style much.

Is Chinese hair easy to take care of?

Yes. It’s pretty low stress.

The strands are strong.
It holds a straight style well and more silky.

If you want something simple for daily wear, this is a safe pick.

Who should choose Chinese hair?

Choose Chinese hair if you want:

A straight and smooth finish

Easy blending with straight hair

A topper that feels “put together” fast.

What does a Burmese hair topper look like on?

Burmese hair version of Upgrade Courtney has more natural movement.

Even when it’s not super curly, it still looks like more volume and wont look too flat.
And it can look more “real” on wavy hair.

If your natural hair has texture, Burmese hair often blends better.

Upgrade Courtney in Burmese Hair:

Can you straighten Burmese hair?

Yes, you can.

You can wear it wavy for volume.
Or straighten it for a cleaner look.

Just keep in mind:
When you wash it, the wave will come back.

Who should choose Burmese hair?

Choose Burmese hair if you want:

A soft feel with more volume

A better match for wavy or curly hair

More freedom to change your style

Which one is better for your hair type?

Here’s the easy way to think about it:

Your natural hair

Best match

Straight

Slight wave

Chinese or Burmese (depends on your style)

Wavy

Burmese hair topper

If your hair is wavy and you buy super straight hair…
You may spend more time blending it.

What if you still can’t decide?

Then ask yourself this:

Do you want sleek… or do you want volume?

That’s usually the real difference.

Chinese hair = sleek and smooth
Burmese hair = soft and full

Both are beautiful.
Just different vibes.

Ready to find your match?

There’s no wrong choice here.

If you want a topper that looks straight, neat, and simple, go with Chinese hair.
If you want something softer with more texture and body, go with Burmese hair.

The best topper is the one that makes you feel good the second you clip it on.

Take a look at the Upgrade Courtney topper collection and pick the one that fits your hair and your daily style. Because good hair days should not be stressful.

Thank you for the video. If I buy a BLOND Burmese hair topper, will it have the same , very sick curls after washing, as a natural Burmese hair , or just a smooth waves, as on the video posted here, on the brown color Burmese topper ?

Thank you for your question! The color won’t affect the natural curl pattern of Burmese hair after washing. However, the degree of curl may vary depending on the hair care products you use.

My hair is naturally wavy, but I wear it straight most of the time only because my fine hair doesn’t tolerate heat very well and so curling it only damages it. However I do like a curly look as well and so wonder which would be the best first option for me, Burmese or Chinese?

Thank you for reaching out! If you prefer more curl, I’d recommend going with the Burmese hair! It naturally curls after washing, just like in the picture shown. This could save you some styling time.
