How To Care

Looking after your hair extensions hair hair pieces is very important in order to increase the life of them. The correct care and maintenance will allow you to continue using the product with the best results for the longest amount of time. So, take the advantage of the following instructions as a gauge for determining how and when you should wash and care for your products.

How to wash

♦ Before shampooing, gently remove any tangles from your hair products. Always use a mild shampoo or one specifically formulated for chemically treated hair.

♦ Run the hair under warm (not hot) water. Gently work the shampoo into the hair, stroking downwards from the top to the ends. Do not twist, scrub or rub the hair.

♦ When clean, rinse thoroughly under warm running water until the water runs clear. Be sure to rinse until all shampoo is removed, as improper rinsing could result in damage.

♦ Just like your own hair, human hair products need to be conditioned after shampooing to maintain a healthy shine and promote styling ease. Place a small amount of conditioner in your hand. Gently work into the hair and let sit for three to five minutes.

♦ Rinse thoroughly in warm water. Gently towel blot to remove excess water.

♦ While wet, gently comb the hair to remove tangles. Using a large toothed comb, move in a downward motion away from the clips and to the ends. Do not use a bristle brush on wet hair as it may pull out or break the hair.

♦ Hang to air dry, set in rollers, or use a blow dryer on a low setting, as desired. Your human hair products will not require washing as often as your own hair, wash only when they start to look dull and lifeless.

How to style

♦ Steam rollers and/or wet setting are the safest way to curl your human hair products

♦ Blow dryers, curling irons and other thermal tools may be used on low settings. Remember, the hair may scorch if the setting is too high.

♦ For cutting, or any chemical processes such as perming or coloring, take the hair products to a professional stylist.

A wig is a great way to enjoy a new hairstyle but it is still different from natural hair. It is important to take good care of a wig to extend its lifespan and maintain an attractive appearance. Here are 5 tips that may be helpful to wig wearers.

How to Care for a Synthetic Wig

♦ You should try to avoid all heat sources while wearing your wig. Heat will damage the synthetic fibers of the wig as they will become singed and partially melted.

♦ Don’t dye synthetic wigs. It is strongly recommended to ask a professional hairdresser to trim, shape or thin out the wig.

♦ It is recommended that you wash your wig one or twice every month according to wearing frequency.

♦ Choose a slightly acidic shampoo, use hair conditioner and wash in mild water.

♦ Make sure the water flows in the same direction during washing and avoid rubbing the wig heavily.

♦ Do not comb or brush the wet wig. Style the wig when it is dry.

♦ Using a wig brush on a wig is okay but, I suggest using a METAL WIDE TOOTH COMB and avoid using a plastic brush.

♦ For tight, curly, or ringlet styles try the “Shake & Go” method, or gently lift and separate the curls with a pick comb or your fingers. Do not brush.

♦ Don’t apply facial gel or hair wax on the wig, which will make the wig very sticky.

♦ Refrain from pulling the comb forcefully through the tangles. Pulling will not only pull the hair off of the "tracks" of the wig but the pulling will also cause the synthetic hair to become frizzy. Spray your synthetic wig with a light oil sheen to restore luster that was lost while getting rid of the tangles.

♦ It is very normal for the synthetic wig to have a certain amount of shedding.

♦ You can also use a“spray-in”conditioner. Simply spray your wig thoroughly before wearing to keep the hair soft and static free. With the Spray in conditioner, your wig will look like the first time you took it out of the box.

♦ Please store your wig on a wig stand or mannequin head in a cool, dry location avoiding extreme temperatures, mold and dust, which will help maintain the shape, cleanliness and style of your wig.

How to Care for a Human Hair Wig

♦ Please don’t color human hair wigs by yourselves. It is a very risky experiment and might have a bad result. However, if you still prefer to dye your own wigs, please keep in mind that you should never try to dye a darker color wig into a lighter color. Strongly recommend to ask the professional hairdresser to trim, shape or thin out the wig.

♦ NEVER sleep on wet hair; your hair must be completely dry before going to sleep as sleeping on a wet lace wig WILL cause hair to be very matted.

♦ Don’t soak the hand-tied human hair wigs for a long time since it will damage the knots in the wigs. When you wash the wig, please treat it very carefully just like your own hair.

♦ Choose a slightly acidic shampoo, use hair conditioner and wash in mild water.

♦ Make sure the water flows in the same direction during washing and avoid rubbing the wig heavily.

♦ Do not comb or brush the wet wig. Style the wig when it is dry.

♦ Gently blot excess water with hand or towel (do not twist or brush); shake vigorously and hang upside down to air dry (usually overnight). Do not blow dry the wig. Do not brush wig when wet. Do not wear wig with wet cap or dry wig on head or Styrofoam, as this will stretch the cap.

♦ Using a wig brush on a wig is okay but, I suggest using a METAL WIDE TOOTH COMB.

♦ Refrain from pulling the comb forcefully through the tangles. Pulling will not only pull the hair off of the "tracks" of the wig but the pulling. Spray your wig with a light oil sheen to restore luster that was lost while getting rid of the tangles.

♦ For straight styles brush in long, even, gentle strokes. Starting at the bottom, gently comb the hair using a downward motion, with a wide-tooth comb or finger style. Gradually move up until you have combed all the hair. Never begin combing at the top or middle. It will damage and tangle the hair.

♦ It is very normal for the human hair wig to have certain amount of shedding.

♦ Please store your wig on a wig stand or mannequin head in a cool, dry location avoiding extreme temperatures, mold and dust, which will help maintain the shape, cleanliness and style of your wig.
